A proposal abroad adds beauty and risk in equal measure. Weather changes, crowds appear and phones run out of battery. The good news is that almost everything that can go wrong is predictable.
Choose the spot and the backup
Visit the location at the same hour you plan to propose, if you can. Light, noise and crowds change completely through the day. Always have a second option for rain, and a quiet one for when the first is full.
Hide the logistics
A discreet photographer, a reservation made in advance and a hotel that knows what is happening let you stay calm. The fewer decisions you make in the moment, the more present you will be.
Think about the evening after
The proposal is a few minutes. The evening is what you will remember. Plan a dinner without a rush, somewhere you can celebrate properly, and leave time to simply sit together and take it in.
